Everyone who reads this blog knows that I love working together with my mom on projects. Today's blog is no exception. Today, I was helping my mom surf Ravelry for a new designer for her Indy Designer Saturday feature on her blog when we found the adorable crochet creations of Tawnya Myers on her blog Just Crafting Around. This woman is amazing!
Let's start with something a bit unusual. Her Mermaid Fin Slippers are a must for any mermaid fan. These slippers are easy to make, not to mention fun as all get out.
Now, I haven't seen Trolls yet, but I gotta say that it looks adorable. I grew up with the old Treasure Trolls (not that I had any, I thought the things were plug-ugly) but I must say the new Trolls from the Dreamworks movie of the same name are actually cute. Now, the Princess Poppy hat from Just Crafting Around wins me over completely! Princess Poppy is represented in all her perky glory, including her shock of pink hair. Also available are patterns for Harper, another Trolls character and Poppy's friend Branch.
From the popular French-American animated series PJ Masks comes Catboy! This cozy mask-hat hybrid will keep your little super hero warm on those mystery solving missions around the neighborhood.
Disney/Pixar gets the crochet treatment with Arlo the Dinosaur from "The Good Dinosaur". This hat is one of the all time cutest things I have ever set eyes on!
Now, along with all these awesome hats, we have dolls and stuffies! Tawnya has designed some of the most beautiful soft dolls I have ever seen (and that's saying something!).
Number one: Katie the soccer girl. This detailed doll features an authentic looking uniform, athletic looking doll, bag, and ball. I just love her!
Number two: I saved the best for last. This beautiful Mermaid is clearly inspired by everyone's favorite sassy mergirl Ariel, but is her own character as you'll find if you care to read her backstory. Look at her fingers! That is really awesome.
This is just a taste of what Tawnya offers her readers. Please check out her blog for more great stuff!
